UAE’s leadership shows the World pathway to achieving net-zero CO2 emissions

USPA NEWS - 11th December 2023, London, Dr Abdul Basit Syed, a prominent Global Peace Activist on attending the COP 28 conference in Dubai, stated that “The UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 initiative to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, is a major step in making the UAE the leader of the global climate movement. The UAE under the visionary leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has successfully demonstrated to the entire world its growing influence in all major sectors. It has become the force to lead the coalition of countries, cities, businesses and other institutions pledging to get to net-zero emissions from almost all the countries around the world, at the COP28 meeting held at Dubai”.
 
Farmers and other smallholders are at the heart of this climate meeting. The first Presidency event on the Food, Agriculture and Water Day provided a platform for farmers from around the world, to discuss approaches and innovations developed by smallholder producers.

The High-Level Ocean Panel, comprising 18 world leaders representing 50% of global coastlines and over 45% of Exclusive Economic Zones, welcomed the Organization of American States to a mission to make progress towards 100% sustainable ocean management.

Dr Abdul Basit Syed, attended COP 28 as the chairman of an International NGO “World Humanitarian Drive (WHD)” founded in London, United Kingdom in 2018. WHD has been granted Special Consultative Status by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations on 7th June 2023.
